The final 'dun dun' for 'Law & Order'?
Bring it back for one more year!
From The New York Post:
It would be criminal to cancel 'Law & Order' one season shy of becoming the longest running series in TV history, but according to a new report, that is exactly what NBC plans to do.
Although the network refuses to comment, Deadline.com received reliable word that the show -- currently in its 20th season -- will not be renewed for a record breaking 21st.
"Law & Order" has endured cast changes, regime changes, time slot changes and Jay Leno -- but it seems that the one thing it couldn't survive was another spin-off.
In addition to "Law & Order: SVU" and "Criminal Intent," NBC is keen on a California-set incarnation of the franchise.
If true, the May 24 season finale -- titled "Rubber Room" -- which was not written as a series finale, will unceremoniously serve as one.
Law & Order deserves one more year and a appropriate finale episode. I’ve always been a huge fan of the show because of it’s great writing.
