Pope Benedict XVI's Visit to Britain is Failing to Excite the Public, according to New Opinion Polls.

Pope Benedict may be wondering where has all the love gone among the British people?

Well, if you ask me, Britain’s turn towards secularism and away from her faith roots in Christianity has a lot to do with it.

The UK Telegraph reports that a Comres poll found 79 per cent of people had "no personal interest" in the visit and 77 per cent do not think taxpayers should be paying for it.

Only one in five said they planned to follow the visit closely and this figure dropped to one in 10 of those with no religious affiliation.

Although I agree with the British people as far as taxpayers not wanting to pay the tab for the pope’s visit, a much larger issue is Britain’s turning her back on faith.

The UK is the land that bore John Wesley, Jonathan Edwards (See Left Photo)

and George Whitefield. These men are theological giants of Christian faith. It’s very distressing to me and many others that England has lost her way.

I hope there’s still a remnant left in the country that can turn things around.
