Carl Paladino moves to within 16 points in poll in New York Gov Race

Carl Paladino is not finished yest in his quest to upset baby Andrew Cuomp, the daddy’s Little boy that hasn’t acomplished anything on his own without the help of his father, former Gov Mario Cuomo.

This lead Andrew has is going to continue to shrink as he’s forced to open his mouth and pretend he a conservative reformer.

New Yorkers are not going to be fooled by that.

The Buffalo News reports that Republican Carl P. Paladino is gaining in his contest for governor against Democratic rival Andrew M. Cuomo, according to a new Rasmussen poll.

The survey of 500 likely voters shows Cuomo leading by 54 to 38 percent and represents a major jump from the same poll's finding in July, when the attorney general's lead over the Buffalo businessman was 58 to 29 percent.

"This is Paladino's best showing yet," according to Rasmussen Reports. "It remains to be seen whether this is a short-lived post-primary bounce or a tightening of the race that Cuomo has dominated for months."

The race remains in the "solid Democrat" category, however, the pollster reported. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.5 percentage points in the poll, which was conducted Thursday.

According to the poll, 59 percent of likely voters view Cuomo favorably, while 35 percent regard him unfavorably. Only 5 percent expressed no opinion.

For Paladino, the poll reports favorables at 46 percent, with unfavorables at 38 percent, with 15 percent expressing no opinion.
Paladino called the poll results "awesome" and predicted that he will close the gap even further in the next week.

All of this seemed to intensify both campaigns, as Paladino reiterated his challenge to Cuomo to engage in a debate, while Cuomo supporters showed the kind of power they can muster when on the attack.
