Police: Idaho Woman (Kristina B. Ross) Impersonated Plastic Surgeon UPDATE gets plea deal

Beware of false doctors bearing their hands.

CBS News reports that police arrested a woman in Idaho's capital city after they say she impersonated a plastic surgeon and conducted breast exams on at least two women in local bars.

Kristina B. Ross was arrested Tuesday and jailed on accusations of unlicensed practice of medicine. It all started earlier this month, when Boise police were called to a downtown medical office by employees of a licensed plastic surgeon.Police say the office was getting calls from prospective patients who wanted to see a Dr. Berlyn Aussieahshowna. But no doctor by that name worked at the office.

Police got contact information for the women who had called, interviewed them - and then identified the 37-year-old Ross, who isn't licensed to practice medicine.A phone listing for a Kristina Ross in Boise was disconnected.Detectives say they fear there may be others who had fake exams.

UPDATE: Woman charged with fondling 2 women gets plea deal

The Associated Press reports that a Boise woman accused of posing as a plastic surgeon and fondling women has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Ada County prosecutors say 37-year-old Kristina Ross has agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor battery counts. But the Idaho Statesman reports the agreement hinges on Ross getting a psychological evaluation.

Authorities accused Ross of posing as Dr. Berlyn Aussieahshowna (AU-see-uh-showna) and touching at least two women's breasts while claiming to give breast exams last fall.

Ross was also charged with practicing medicine without a license, but those charges will be dropped as part of the deal.

Ross has a previous criminal history in Idaho as a man but now identifies herself as a woman. She is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
