Parenting Crisis: Mark Sanchez’s sex hookup Eliza Kruger, 17, clubbing with mom Marie Kruger since age 15

When I heard about this story yesterday, I decided not to post it on TLT because I didn’t see anything interesting about it other than Mark Sanchez’s lack of good sense for messing with a teenager.
The 24 year old star quarterbackfor the New York Jets, with his movie star good looks, has hundreds if not thousands of beautiful women available to him.

But, he chose a teenager!

Yeah, he’s dumb, but so what?

As far as I was concerned, the bigger scandal was what was a 17 year old girl doing at club in the first place?

I said to an associate at work, had that been my daughter hooking up with Sanchez, I would have lit up her tail and dared anybody to call child services.

However, on further reflection, if my daughter chose to sneak out the house or something to that effect as kids that age tend to do, then the fault would be mine as a parent for not instilling enough “good sense” in my child.

I firmly believe children are a reflection of parenting, good or bad. For the most part, though there are exceptions, good parents produce good children and bad parents produce bad children.

But, in this post-modern world that we live in where cultural relativism says that anyone's morality is no better or worse than anyone else’s, standards of good behavior becomes irrelevant.

So I thought about Eliza’s parents and wondered whether or not they were blindsided by the actions of a rebellious teenage daughter that is so common among the travails of raising children. Mind you, I was giving her parents the benefit of the doubt. That was until I saw this article in the NY Post that confirms this 17 year old didn’t learn how to shake her booty on the dance floor from watching MTV.

It turns out Marie Kruger, her mom, knows something about slithering up to the bar herself and sticking her tongue down the throats of strange men unbeknownst to her then-husband, Konrad “Chip” Kruger.

So why should anyone be surprised Eliza ended up in Mark Sanchez’s bed, taking pictures of crippled up bed sheets and football helmets to “mark” the occasion?

Who knows, maybe she learned exactly what to do from the mother who was supposed to be looking out for her best interests?

I think taking a 15 year old child clubbing is a form of child abuse, not parental bonding with children. But, that’s just me.

If you think this is an isolated incident, think again.
We have generations of parents that believe in the “time out” form of discipline and would argue that spanking children is barbaric. They believe in being friends with their children instead of parents. So in the Black community it’s not unusual for daughter (hopefully 18), mother 32, and grandmother 45 to be hanging out and shaking it at the same club.
There’s nothing wrong with having a good time.
But, the responsibility of parenthood should take precedence over selfishness.

But if you’re a parent that wants to be bosom buddies with your kids, you’re doing yourself and your children more damage than good.

This country is trillions of dollars in debt and that will affect the lives of those yet to be born. It’s a momentous problem that will take years to sort out.

However, the issue of how we parent our children is an even larger dilemma that doesn’t get the attention it deserves and its impact will be far worse than the debt.
